The country music icon cheekily told Entertainment Tonight Canada: “I don’t know if there’s a key”

Tim McGraw is celebrating his lengthy, 27-year marriage to his wife Faith Hill – and certainly hasn’t shied away from revealing the secrets of their success!

The country music icon cheekily told Entertainment Tonight Canada: “I don’t know if there’s a key. We always say we’re 27 years coming up, it’s like 96 in show business. It’s almost like dog years.”

McGraw, 55, and Hill, 55, first met at a Nashville gig in 1994. At that time, Hill was engaged and McGraw was dating, so nothing came of it.Hill ended up serving as McGraw’s opening act for his 1996 ‘Spontaneous Combustion’ tour, and the pair were married later that year.

Since then, the couple has welcomed three daughters – Gracie, 26; Maggie, 25; and Audrey, 21.

 

Speaking to Entertainment Tonight Canada, McGraw said he might not have an exact recipe for a successful marriage, but did admit he knows how to make his wife happy after almost 30 years together.

In fact, during his interview he revealed that the pair made one sweet promise to each other early on in their relationship, which he feels has enabled his marriage to be as long-lasting as it is.

“We just made a commitment early on, when we first decided we were getting married and having kids, that we wouldn’t just walk out the door when problems arose,” he revealed.
